Jerusalem
Jerusalem is important because it is the ancient capital of Israel and the site of the original temple.
The Western Wall
This is where the tablets that Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai with the ten commandments were stored in a golden box called the Ark of the Covenant.
Synagogues
The synagogue was so important in the Jewish community because it was used as a house of prayer by the people. The synagogue was also used as a house of study. Children received their basic religious education in the same place and The synagogues also functioned as a social welfare agency.
Temple Mount
Judaism regards the Temple Mount as the place where God chose the Divine Presence to rest, it was from here the world expanded into its present form and where God gathered the dust used to create the first man, Adam. The site is the location of Abraham's binding of Isaac, and of two Jewish Temples.
